Pastor Dave Jahn
The
word “ pastor” was originally used in
farming and it referred to someone who helped to take
care of and feed the sheep. In the church it quickly
came to mean the person a congregation set apart to
lead, feed (spiritually), equip, and care for God’s
people.

Basically,
this is my calling from God. It is also my passion and my
job. God has called me to continually and prayerfully discern
and motivate us toward the direction and mission that God
has in store for us as a congregation.
A part
of this leadership involves giving spiritual nourishment
and training to the members of this congregation (Christ’s
sheep). I believe God wants each of us to grow strong and
healthy as we discover our gifts and calling along the way.
Last, but not least, God has called me to watch over this
body of believers and to make sure that any who need help
and care are receiving it; from the other members of the
“flock” as well as from their “shepherd”.
Together we can change the world, one life at a time. We
can be the hands and feet and heart and voice of God in
this community. We can discover who we really are in Christ
so that our greatest joys can meet the community’s
greatest needs. Helping each of you find and grow toward
this God-given purpose is my joy and my calling among you.
Thanks for joining me in this excellent adventure and mission.
Pastor Pamela Hansen – Associate Pastor for South Campus Ministries
In September 2006 I came from Germany to All Saints Lutheran Church and started working here as a Pastor in Residence for about a year with main focus on youth and family ministry. This year of residency was supposed to provide adjustment to the American way of life and even more the American way of church life.
But during this time something else happened as well: I (finally) realized how strongly the Holy Spirit was “nudging” me in a certain direction: to go therefore and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). God obviously meant that literally. After all, He sent me all the way from a small town in the northern part of Germany to Southeast Michigan to be a professional laborer in His vineyard.
But the journey did not end at All Saints in Hartland. Currently we are starting a new outreach ministry in South Lyon and my responsibilities have changed from being a youth and family minister to establishing a new campus for our congregation. It helps a lot that God has created me as a person who is always ready for adventures.
Our vision for the new campus is to reach out to people who may never have heard the Good News before and let them know that God loves ALL of His children.
So at the moment I am partly a shepherd who is leading the All Saints flock to new and unknown pastures and partly a professional laborer who is preparing some ground in God’s vineyard for something really important: calling God’s lost children home!

Karen
Parrish—
Worship Support and Financial Support Secretary
I have been a member of All Saints Lutheran church since 1999, and in January 2000 began work as the office secretary. Since becoming an employee, my role has changed many times. This flexibility has allowed me to meet the changing needs of the congregation, and the congregation has met the changing needs of my family. What a blessing!
Currently, I serve as the Worship Support Secretary, preparing bulletins and PowerPoint presentations associated with worship. I also serve as the Financial Support Secretary, assisting the Treasurer with the upkeep of all financial records. I enjoy my work at All Saints, and the many volunteers and congregation members with whom I am fortunate enough to work every day. This is an exciting place to work, and I look forward to whatever changes God has in store for me and for All Saints. |

Kate
Zywicki —
Director of Lay Ministries
“So what is a DLM and what can we expect of you?” Well, to tie into one of Pastor Dave’s sermons in December 2006, I’m the sub-contractor for you, God’s road crew. It’s my job to help you find your God-given talents and gifts, to know the various ministries of the church, and then to help you get plugged in. Getting plugged in is a great way to deepen your relationship with God while getting to know His people and giving back to a community where you get “fed” every week.
As of December 2006, after nearly 10 years of attending All Saints, I launched this new part of my journey in faith. At this time and at least for the year of 2007, God has drawn me to the book of Hebrews. Please know that I keep all of you in prayer as I ponder how to live out Hebrews 10:23-25 in ministry: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together…, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Know that I am praying and acting on how we can all “spur one another on toward love and good deeds”. Remember, “WE are the church”!
I can be found in the church office on Monday and Friday mornings from 9:30-12:30 and can be reached via the church line at 248-887-8060. You can also reach me directly at 248-318-9098. I can most often be found around Sunday services meeting and greeting God’s people. Look for the lady wearing the “Ask Me” button and ask me! |
