Do You Know the Good News? Jeff Moyski was June’s recipient of the WOW award. It was noted that besides being a father, having full time employment, and attending school, he still finds time to give fully of himself to youth programming. The giver, Claire Hardy, noted that he is a great model and mentor to the youth. Now if we could just clone Jeff! From the Interim Senior Pastor Greetings, Sisters and Brothers in Christ: This month I’d like to follow-up my previous column with some additional information that might help you understand some of the challenges All Saints faces as we look at moving ahead into the future God has for us. Make Me a Servant We want to make the prayer corner available on the first and third Sundays of the month at each service and need additional people to serve. You do not need any special training, just a heart for listening to and praying with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Breakfast of Hope As a response to the bad economy the South Lyon Churches will be hosting a weekly gathering with coffee and bagels for people who are unemployed, in order to provide support and the opportunity to connect with others in the same situation. They're Back, Those Wonderful Church Bulletins! These sentences actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services (Summer, 2007 Release). Recycling Update Remember, When you are cleaning and organizing, bring your paper to All Saints. You are helping out the environment and raising funds for the church at the same time. It's a good place to bring old magazines and unwanted paperback books when the basement gets cleaned out. If you want to shred old bills or paperwork just bag it and throw it all in. Staples and tape are no problem but we can't accept cardboard. This month through our paper recycling program, the church was paid $17.46, and saved 10.92 cubic yards of landfill space! Part-Time Church Musicians Needed Two positions are available immediately, one at All Saints Lutheran Church in Hartland, Michigan, and another one at South Lyon Power & Light in South Lyon, Michigan. What Should You Do With Your Extra Greeting Cards? Bring them to church! Your Prayer Team can use any cards that you may have accumulated but not used. Specifically helpful are those related to Get Well, Thinking of You, Sympathy, Encouragement, Prayer, etc. Any cards that we cannot use will be passed on to nursing homes and those who can use them. From Congregational Life Committee We hope you enjoyed our Heavenly Coffee event on May 10th. We certainly enjoyed seeing you have fun and fellowship! Thanks for participating! Scrappy Saints Our scrapbooking / crafting / fellowship group, the Scrappy Saints will be cancelling their July and August meetings due to crazy schedules and vacations. We will resume our monthly meetings on the second Friday in September. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call Liesl Schick at 810-632-6443. Mini-Confirmation Camp Weekend - FREE! Update on the General Manager Position Please accept this letter as serving 3 distinct purposes. First of all, it is the report I promised you when you allowed me to begin service as General Manager of All Saints. Secondly it is my expression of appreciation to you for allowing me that opportunity and supporting my efforts as such. Thirdly, it is my resignation and suggestion for going forward in my service to All Saints. I’ll be a succinct as possible so as to not laden you with a long read while being as clear as possible in my communication.
