13 people were warmly welcomed into membership inJanuary and are enthusiastically plugging into ministries. Pastor's Corner by Rev. David M. Jahn As far as we can tell, the return of Christ and the end of things as we know them has been an important part of Christian belief since the beginning. After Jesus had left the scene, his first followers firmly believed that he was going to return soon. They expected that he would bring about the ultimate reign of God well within their lifetimes. The realization that Jesus may not be coming as soon as they thought only began to dawn on them as the eye witnesses to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection began to die. Pelle’s Corner by Rev. Pamela Hansen I recently found out that All Saints Lutheran Church has now something called South Campus Ministries, and I was wondering what the heck that is. Thank You To my dear brothers and sisters in Christ at All Saints, Thank you again for your constant care, your unending support, and your generosity to Lori and I this year. Once again, your Christmas gift to us leaves us humble and grateful to God for the partnership we share in the Gospel. You are the best! In the love and service of Christ, Join the All Saints Family All Saints is a “family” as Pastor Dave has said many times. If you’re a member of the family who sometimes has nowhere to go on major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas and who may also want to connect with others who sometimes feel “left out” because of not having a supportive biological family. January Council Minutes Get the latest information from last month's council meeting at All Saints. DLM Update In case your new to All Saints or missed some newsletters, I thought I would review this acronym of DLM. DLM stands for Director of Lay Ministries. What that means is a designated individual who seeks to support all ministries and all members through identifying needs and matching that need with a member or disciple who has a heart or a gift for that need. You're Invited to a Very Special Meal Our “Love Feast” or Agape Meal will be March 20th, beginning at 6:30. This special meal is intertwined with the Maundy Thursday service. “Agape” is Greek for unconditional love. In the early days of the church, people gathered to remember that wonderful things Jesus taught and share a meal, together with Holy Communion. The Agape Feast is a chance to connect with those early traditions as we await Easter. Stephen Ministry Are you experiencing a "Winter" in your life? Our Stephen Ministers Can Help! The winter weather we've had recently can be symbolic of what can sometimes happen in life. A crisis hits and we feel like we're buried beneath a drift of snow. Relationships can become "icy," or we can feel "frozen" by life circumstances.
