Do YOU Know the Good News?

The June WOW award was presented to June and Marty Mills.  They are long time disciples who steadfastly and faithfully serve the Lord with their many gifts.  June has been responsible for many of the banners and altar linens that you see.  Marty has probably made many of the crosses you see the worship participants wearing as well as many congregation members.  He has also made crosses to present to First Communicants.  Their work may be behind the scenes, but the beauty and glory they bring to God is unmistakable.

The most recent Rummage Sale effort was a great success despite the threatening weather.  Not only did it help the church and members find new homes for their things, it also served as a community outreach opportunity.  The effort also brought in $1300 to go toward the mission here at All Saints.  An additional bake sale effort also brought in another $80.  You’ve got to love this win, win, win situation!

Have you checked out the More Than Money Matters program being presented here at All Saints on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM?  This is an award winning financial management program put on by Thrivent and co-sponsored by your Managing a Christian Lifestyle and Financial Oversight Teams.  It is full of great information about stewardship, values, communicating about money, credit, debt, FINDING MONEY TO SAVE, budgeting, and determining your net worth.  It’s not too late to participate!  Drop in when you can.   Sessions are still happening July 13th, 20th, and the 27th.

Community outreach efforts continue, coordinated by your All Saints Mission Team and Social Concerns.  See the information counter for summer opportunities of service both locally and in the greater Detroit area.  Disciples will be going to help at Gleaners Food Bank in Howell on July 10th at 10:30 am to noon.  Disciples will then be going to help at Spirit of Hope Church in Detroit on August 8th, leaving All Saints as a group at 8 am and returning around 1:30 pm.  The Detroit event is both a time of service and worship.  Want something even more local?  Please see the Food Pantry located in the narthex (just to the left of the memorial garden area) where you can donate food stuffs and other household goods that are then taken to Community Sharing.

Things abound!  Have you seen the many thanks that are given for the outreach that All Saints does?  Journey down the southern hallway (yes, toward the restrooms) and notice the cards and notes of thanks posted on the first bulletin board.  You will also find pictures of the Sunday School wrap up Sundae Sunday on the second bulletin board.  It makes you smile.  Looking for information, books, or devotionals?  Check in our “library” just to the right of the sanctuary doors to find materials on various topics and even booklets of interest dropped off by your fellow All Saints’ disciples.  There is so much going on to give thanks for and share in here at All Saints.

Have you seen where the church is going?  Check the office “window” just behind the guest book to see all the things going on at All Saints, how they connect, who to talk to, and how it extends God’s mission into His world.  As we journey toward calling a full time Pastor and growing into a program sized church, this is the model that will help us all stay connected and reach out!
