Relay for Life - All Saints Life Savers
Register, Register, Register
It is important that we get more of our team registered with the American Cancer Society for this event. These are numbers that help them for future planning. As of now, our team has 8 official registrants. If you would like a paper copy of the registration form, I have them in my mailbox at church, #13. Please fill one out and I can return in at my next team captain meeting. It is important as it helps with plans for future Relay for Life events.
When Are YOU Walking?
What is a Relay? "a series of persons relieving one another or taking turns; shift." Our Relay begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15 and ends at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, May 16. This means we need to fill time slots to keep one teammate on the track at all times carrying the baton. Check out or schedule at the Information Table at church and help us keep the relay going.
Some tips:
- It is safe for the older kids to be there over night.
- Late night shifts are great for older kids/college age to go as a group, hang out, and make an overnight of it.
- We will have an RV available for overnight walkers that need to rest up.
- While I only have 2 spaces to sign up for each half hour time slot, it is expected and welcome to have more walkers than that on the track at any time.
Touching Base
While email is a great way to get information out to many of you quickly and easily and frequently, I don't get feedback in a timely manner. After our $5 Foot Long sale on Sunday, April 25, I'd like to have everyone stay for a brief meeting to answer any questions and make sure we're all on board for the next few weeks and getting our final preparations together for the Relay.
Team Update
Our team is currently in 3rd as far as overall donations with a total to date of $1,070 (yes, time to up our team goal to $1,500)!!! Our top team member in gaining donations is Kathleen Karwoski with a total to date of $485!!!
Relay for Life Committee Update
There are goals set by the planning committee as well and here they are and where we're at:
Goal: 35 Registered Teams Actual: 20 Registered Teams
Goal: $65,000 Raised (by all teams) Actual: $9.063.81
Goal: 30 ACS CAN Members Actual: 8 ACS CAN Members

Top individual in donations to date: $500 by Patricia Sorvari of the Moonwalkers
Top team members registered online: Dynamic Technology with 44 members (remember, just because you register does not mean you are required to be at the event.)
Campsite Donations
Who would camp without a tent? Or chairs? Or even food and drink? I've begun asking the members of All Saints to help with donations to our campsite for the event. After all, this will be like our home for 24 hours and all the guests we have that come and go for their turn at walking. You too can help or ask for donations and borrowed items. Things on the wish list:
• pop-up tent
• screened tent
• lawn chairs
• chaise lounges
• snacks
• bottled water
• Life Savers....LOTS OF THEM!!! After all, we ARE the Life Savers!!! :)
