Little Saints Christian Preschool

The Preschool Director – Mrs. Kull

The children of Little Saints are such a blessing to all of us - and I continue to feel blessed to work with this ministry. Knowing that our current students are learning about Jesus love and know that God is their heavenly Father is an awesome feeling - especially when you hear one of them make a reference to it! I was recently at Castaway Cafe for a social outing with my children and a student that graduated last year. We stayed for lunch and it was so refreshing to see the children insist on singing "The Lord Is Good To Me" (which is the grace we use each day) before they could eat. Multiple families tell me that they now have to say two mealtime blessings each day at dinner because their children are so passionate about saying this grace - now their whole family knows it! The grace we use comes from Johnny Appleseed and it goes like this:

The Lord is good to me,
And so I thank the Lord,
For giving me the things I need,
The sun, and the rain, and the appleseed.
The Lord is good to me.
Amen, amen, again I say amen.

Green Room – Mrs. Branch

Hello from the Green Room. March was a fun and busy month. The children loved learning about the "Reason for the Season" using the Resurrection Eggs. They each got to open a colorful plastic egg which revealed a wonderful surprise about the true meaning of Easter. They wanted to do this activity again and again. Of course we also decorated our classroom with typical Easter themed projects such as bunnies and eggs. One of the most exciting activities that we participated in this month was being visited by some real live snakes. The Green Room is a class of fairly quiet girls. All of the girls tried at least once to touch a snake. I was so proud of them.

Purple Room – Mrs. Manross

We had a busy, quick month with the holiday! We had a visit form Beth Duman, who showed her snakes to the children. The children loved to touch and learn all about them! We were working on the letter S, and our Zoo-phonic friend, Sammy Snake which tied in wonderfully. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with crafts and learned about Ireland. We had an Easter party with our Red room friends! We had an Easter egg hunt and learned the importance of this joyous holiday, Jesus is Risen! We are all looking forward to celebrating spring and the warmer weather. Please stop in to visit us anytime!

Red Room – Mrs. MacLean

Greetings from the Red Room! March was a fun packed month. The children loved learning about the meaning of Easter through the Resurrection Eggs and what each egg represented. We also continue to enjoy our quality time with Pastor Dave and starting learning a new song with him in our preparation for the end of the year ceremony. The class enjoyed a lovely Easter celebration and Egg Hunt. Thank you to all the parents who supplied food and offered time in the classroom we always appreciate the support. In March we also had live snakes visit our school for the children to experience the confidence to be around snakes, which also fit nicely into our letter of the week as we introduced the Zoo-phonics letter “Ss”. Some of the children talked about not feeling comfortable touching the snakes including the teacher and we discussed that that would be okay. The snakes were presented in such a comfortable way that all the children in the Red Room were not afraid and most of the children touched them, this was a great experience. We are looking forward for the next few months as we prepare for our Mother’s Day Tea that will take place in May. The Red Room sends God’s blessings to all.

Yellow Room – Mrs. Vamvounis

The yellow room will be diving into an ocean themed unit to kick off April. The students will be exploring fish, sharks, starfish, shells and crabs. We will be making "beaches in bottles" and blue cellophane faux aquariums. Live turtles will make an appearance early in April, which will surely thrill the students. The students loved the rabbit and the snakes that visited in March, although it took a little encouragement for some students to warm up to the snakes.
