DLM Update

The DLM has moved?
I have moved offices that is; you can’t get rid of me that easily When people ask me what it is I do, I say that I am the “people” person; the person who should know everyone and have an idea about what is going on. As I’ve grown into my position, I’ve found that I spend a lot of time in the front office and like the “face time” it gives me with all of you. Thus, I’ve moved my digs to the front office, so come say hello! What’s happening to the old office space? I know that Council, especially Property, is carefully considering this.

Exploring Membership
It’s that time again; time to find out what is going on at All Saints and how to get involved. This is really what membership is all about. So if you feel God calling you to take that next step in calling All Saints your church home, come check this out.

In 2008, there are three more opportunities available to ANYONE who walks into All Saints’ doors. These sessions are a time to find out about your Lutheran history, what happens in worship, what exactly is stewardship, how to build a closer relationship with God, and what ministries are available at All Saints. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

Saturday, April 26: 9AM-2PM Service/Potluck:
Sunday, April 27 Saturday,
July 19: 9AM-2PM Service/Cake Reception:
Sunday, July 20 Saturday,
October 1: 9AM-2PM Service/Potluck: Sunday,
October 19

What’s next?
In late February I had the pleasure of attending a continuing education opportunity at Trinity Seminary in Columbus. Besides the long drive to and from Ohio, with a brief white out included, it was an energizing experience. I met a network of other DLMs there who have been very generous with their support, networking, and resourcing. I’m remaining in contact with them and hoping to build a similar network here in our own backyard. God is still calling me to focus us on Spiritual Gifts and equipping us to serve how He has called us to serve. I’m finding that this is a process and processes take time. I’m in my exploring and learning phase right now, praying on the program that will work best for us. Please keep me and this discernment step in prayer. I hope to have more to share and sessions to offer come the fall. But…..it’s never too soon to ask, “where is God calling me to serve?”

Remember GRACE?
Do you know what I love about All Saints and its people? I love the excitement that people bring to the ministries God is calling them to. I get to see that excitement every day as you share your joys in what God is doing.

Not unlike the households we share at home, when we share time and space, there is cross over and sometimes conflicts. We’ve all been there. If I feel like I’m “bumping shoulders” with someone, it always helps me to step back and see how excited the other person is about what their doing, to get caught up in their excitement and be reminded “would this make God angry?”. We do need to keep a balance and consider each other in mission and at the end of the day remember GRACE-Giving Respect And Compassion Eternally, just as it was first given to us.

I am never more than a call or email away. Please feel free to reach me with your encouragement, questions or concerns directly at 248.318.9098 or at katezywicki@cs.com.

God knows that I can’t do any of this without YOU!

Keep encouraging one another in Christ!
