Pastor's Corner by Rev. David M. Jahn

Christ is Risen! Alleluia! It feels great to say those words and to ponder that great truth. In fact, every Sunday when we gather together as God’s people, we hope to bless God with our praise, thanks, and worship, but we also hope to proclaim and to hear the truth about God. I don’t think it’s possible to be reminded too often about all that God is and all that the Holy Spirit has done for us.

DLM Update

I have moved offices that is; you can’t get rid of me that easily When people ask me what it is I do, I say that I am the “people” person; the person who should know everyone and have an idea about what is going on. As I’ve grown into my position, I’ve found that I spend a lot of time in the front office and like the “face time” it gives me with all of you. Thus, I’ve moved my digs to the front office, so come say hello!

Council News - Congregational Life

May 3rd is the BIG CLEAN and we figured it should be the BIG GET TOGETHER too! Why not make a day of it? After you help with the BIG CLEAN, you can join us for the BIG CHILI CONTEST and a BIG GAME FEST. (We might even have a BIG EUCHRE TOURNAMENT not to mention, a few BIG PRIZES!)

A Sincere Thank You

Perhaps you set up a table or rinsed a dish or brought a casserole…..As we reached out to the members of the Weiss family and the Kopp family, you were the warmth and caring that is All Saints. As we hosted the Agape meal, you stepped up again. Perhaps you moved chairs or tossed a salad or carted stacks of dirty dishes to the kitchen. You served with a glad heart and your gladness spread to all around you. For myself and on behalf of Congregational Life, please accept my sincere thanks. Leni Hoffman

Musicians Wanted

We have an amazing talent pool of musicians at All Saints! We have dynamite vocalists, polished pianists, rocking guitarists and pretty much everything in between. We want to hear your musical efforts as special music on Sunday, practically any Sunday. You might share your gifts to the greater glory of God at your choice of our three Sunday services, knowing that you would touch the hearts of worshippers. Need an accompanist? Not a problem. We have several willing pianists and guitarists who are available to help. Interested? Email Kathleen at kwaligura@abailard.com to choose a date convenient for you.

Social Concerns

Christmas In Action - The Social Concerns committee has decided to have All Saints participate in the Christmas In Action, volunteer workday on Saturday, April 26, 2008. It is open to all church members who are the age of 12 or older by April 26.  Christmas In Action is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing FREE HOME REPAIRS for qualified low-income and handicapped senior homeowners, at no cost to them.

Little Saints Christian Preschool

The children of Little Saints are such a blessing to all of us - and I continue to feel blessed to work with this ministry.  Knowing that our current students are learning about Jesus love and know that God is their heavenly Father is an awesome feeling - especially when you hear one of them make a reference to it!
