Kids Against Hunger

Sign-up Soon!  If you haven't already heard about this program, you will soon.  Little Saints and All Saints are working together to raise enough funds to purchase food ingredients that will allow us to create 10,000 meals for children locally and around the country, and world, who need a good healthy meal.  On May 8, 2010, we will need 120 volunteers to work together for about one hour to assemble and create 10,000 meals for children.  The great thing about this program is that 1/3 of the meals will remain here and we will decide where they are most needed, 1/3 will go to national reserves for disaster relief, and 1/3 will go overseas to a country we designate.  To do this we need two phases of help. 

 First, we need to generate $2,800 to purchase the ingredients (yes, that is 28 cents per meal!).  Little Saints chapel money for two months, Lenten offerings from All Saints, two weeks of "noisy offerings", and a bag-some-meals fundraising will generate those funds.  We have currently applied to receive matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to help us meet our goal of $2,800.  Please consider how many meals you can help to provide.

Second, watch for sign-ups to volunteer on May 8th.  Children as young as four and adults up to ninety-nine can work together on this very uplifting event.  It is a short time commitment on a Saturday morning - and promises to be a fun-filled experience.
