Teen Church - What's the Buzz? You may have heard the buzz lately about something called “Teen Church” and are wondering what’s it all about? In an effort to capture the spirit and enthusiasm of joyous worship as experienced at Youth Quake, The Gathering, and Camp; a group of youth, along with a few adult mentors are working on producing a Sunday morning worship service for teens to be held in the parish house basement beginning in April. This worship service will be developed, produced and led by ASLC youth. Favorite music from Youth Quake, The Gathering and contemporary Christian bands will be featured. The youth will work with WAMO to include scripture readings consistent with those being read in the main church each Sunday – though taken from the Teen Bible. Discussion on the scripture and how it relates to the youth attending will be the focus of the discussion-led sermon. Prayers and offering will also be included. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of at ASLC; if you have ideas you would like to contribute; we would love to have you! Please come to The Rock on Wednesday evenings at 6:30-8:00; where we talk early in the meeting about next steps for Teen Church. If you are interested an cannot attend a Rock Meeting, contact Gina Tretyak at gtretyak887@comcast.net Teen Church is seen as an optional worship experience for ASLC youth and invited friends. Youth will continue to participate in the main church as acolytes, communion assistants, ushers and other activities as their commitments are scheduled. |
