Do YOU Know the Good News? Have you been on the web recently, the world wide web that is. Go to www.myallsaints.com and see and explore the new links. We are now linked to Facebook (become a fan!) as well as there being a link to Pastor Drex’s own blog. We keep striving to make our web page user friendly, appealing, and current. Check it out! Over 15 of our youth attended the Gathering which is a highly spiritual event held locally and annually. This year it was held in Novi. All Saints is becoming the “place to be” amongst Southeastern Michigan youth that don’t have a home church. Ask one of the high school youth to share their experience. Subsequently, our youth will be hosting a lock-in again on Saturday, February 5th and then will lead us in worship along with other area ELCA church youth on Sunday, February 6th. The youth have it going on. Please welcome our newest Council Representative, Milissa Schmantowsky. By Council vote in January, Milissa stepped into the role of the Worship and Music Operations Chair. Please lift her and this ministry up in prayer and when you have praise, questions or concerns regarding worship, please lovingly share it with her. Lots of great fun and fellowship comin’ at ya! thanks to Congregational Life. Join IN! Your Council wants you to know: All bills are current. Were you apart of the second Healthy Congregations gathering sponsored by your Managing a Christian Lifestyle team? On January 15th many gathered to journey together in finding ways to make us an even stronger, united, loving, and healthy congregation. They looked specifically at anxiety and change as it relates to congregations. Curious? Come check out the next session to be held on March 19th, 2011. Watch for more details and the fruits of this endeavor. Lent and Easter planning is well under way. It may come late this year but your Worship and Music Operations team is on board. The parish house is now completely painted. On to the next phase of remodeling. Three disciples of All Saints have stepped forward to serve as our representatives at upcoming Synod wide events. Please keep Elizabeth Kotnik, Pam Stapula and Charlie Larson in prayer. Let’s celebrate another year of birthdays! Things are already in motion for our second annual participation in Hartland’s Relay for Life. This is a nation wide, community connected walk that raises money and awareness in hopes of irradicating cancer. The Hartland walk will be May 14th and 15th this year and will be held again at the Hartland High School track. Watch for more details or contact Heidi Mills if you’re ready to jump in now. Is God in your “in” box? If you’re looking for an online devotion that actually follows the lectionary, go to www.luthersem.edu and click on the “God Pause” link to sign up to receive this daily devotion in your email. Another reminder that God is just a “click” away. I know there’s something I missed! Email katezywicki@cs.com with what YOU know is going on. |
