Think Spring and Buy a Brick!

I’m not much of a winter person so spring can’t come soon enough.  What fun to play in the warm dirt and watch the sleepy heads of flowers poke through the ground?  I’m excited to see how the Memorial Garden will look with the sunshine streaming on our new plantings and our bricks inviting us to walk the path. I hope you can get excited too. Phase one is finished.

What we need to focus now on is Phase two.  This next phase will be the Buy a Brick campaign.  For as little as $50.00 you can have your name or that of someone you love “written in stone”. Engraved bricks can commemorate thanksgivings, births, baptisms, passing of a love one, weddings, and anniversaries: the celebrations of life.    Personalized bricks are the perfect permanent gift for special people and special occasions. Meanwhile, your gift to the Memorial Garden will enable All Saints to provide a place for meditation, remembering and healing.  The enclosed form can be mailed or put in the offering plate.  An order will be placed whenever we reach 50 requests.

Thank you to Xtier Inc. Design and Build Landscape crew for all their help in this project.  It looks beautiful. We will see more of the Xtier crew as we continue to develop our Memorial Garden.  A well thought out plan has been established and we have lots of opportunities to make it happen. In March we will have suggested list of plants, trees, shrubs, benches, water features and more available for you to purchase.  We plan to implement additional phases as resources allow.

Although we will see the flowers showing their faces we will also find those pesky weed also showing up. If you would like to volunteer to help maintain our garden please let me know or better yet join our committee. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7:00pm at church. Everyone is invited.

We do ask you to please check with a committee member before you plant or adorn our garden with any structures not listed on the master plan.

The funds for this project were Memorial gifts received in December, 2004, and have been waiting in a money-market account for the project to get underway.

Thank you for all your support in this continuing journey.
